
Toronto Cellist, Alice Kim, received her Bachelor of Music in Cello Performance at McGill University and her Master's Degree from the University of Toronto. She also holds an Artist Diploma in Cello Performance at the Conservatoire de Musique de Montréal.
Her principal teachers over the years include Professor Matt Haimovitz, Professor Denis Brott, and Joseph Johnson & Shauna Rolston.
Ms Kim is active in the Greater Toronto Area as a collaborative musician in both chamber and orchestral music. She is regularly in high demand as a freelance musician and maintains a busy teaching schedule throughout the GTA. She was recently featured in a concert with the Women's Musical Club of Toronto which was broadcasted on CBC Radio.

Ms Kim has made regular appearances as an orchestral player with the National Academy Orchestra of Canada, Toronto Concert Orchestra, Symphony in the Gardens at Casa Loma, London Symphonia (formerly Orchestra London Canada), and the North York Concert Orchestra as a guest principal-cellist.
During her undergraduate years, she was a member of Uccello ensemble and is featured in the CD Album “Meeting of the Spirit”, which was nominated for a Grammy in 2010.
Scholarships recently awarded to her include the McGill Fund Council Award, the Margaret Houlding Memorial Prize, and The Schulich School of Music Award. Ms Kim has also participated in summer programs such as the Casalmaggiore International Festival, Toronto Summer Music Festival Academy, and The Banff Summer Music Festival.
